Mary graduated from Marfa High School and continued her education at Sul Ross State University and Odessa College. Over the years, she worked in various office positions, at a bank, and later as a massage therapist. It was while working at a bank in 1989 that she met the love of her life, Tom E. Miller III, affectionately known as “Trey.” They were married in September of 1990 in Odessa and shared a devoted life together.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary always put her family first. She was incredibly proud of her children and their accomplishments. She found great joy in making tamales during the holidays, cooking for family and friends, working in her backyard, reading, watching movies, and crocheting. If Mary thought you were hungry, she made sure you were fed. She always had a helping hand to offer and a flashlight in her purse—just in case. A woman of deep faith, she prayed every night and lived her life with kindness and generosity.
Mary was actively involved in her church and community, serving with band and orchestra booster organizations and volunteering at numerous holiday feeding sites. Her compassion and servant’s heart touched countless lives.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Tom E. Miller III, of Odessa; her son, Keith D. Villanueva and wife Lindsey of Pecos; daughters Sherry N. Miller and Jeramy Powers of Odessa, and Shelby Easley-McPherson and husband Jacob of Austin; brothers Armando Carrasco of Presidio, Joe Carrasco and Hector Carrasco, both of Odessa; sisters Sally Mendias and Rosie Tarango, both of Odessa; and two cherished grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Anita Carrasco; her brother, Pablo Carrasco Jr.; and her sister, Gracie Carrasco.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Odessa Funeral Home.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Cook Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
