Mary was born in Azle, Texas on June 2nd, 1942, to Obie Lynn and Luna Mae Watts. Her family moved to Odessa in the 1950s and started a general store in south Odessa. Later, Obie Lynn and Luna Mae started the Watts Burgers drive in. They expanded to 3 locations on 8th & West County Road, Andrews Highway, and South Grant. She graduated Permian High School in the 1st graduating class of 1960. She married Earl Keith Redmon in 1961 in Odessa. When her father passed away in 1964, she and Keith took over ownership of the 8th & West County Road location. She worked proudly at the Watts Burger for many years making friends with everyone she met. She and Keith were involved members of Westminster Presbyterian Church for more than 15 years. She loved to volunteer and spend time with her family and close friends on lake vacations or golf vacations with Keith. She was a fun and outgoing mamma bear that loved to cook and loved the outdoors. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014 and was cared for by her family until Keith passed away in 2019. She moved to Orchard Park of the Permian Basin, Memory Care Unit where she met a welcoming and caring family of caregivers. A special thank you to the compassionate caregivers at Orchard Park and Interim Hospice of Odessa. Although Alzheimer’s stole part of her memory, she continued to be a joy to those around her. She always met you with a smile that made you return one right back.
She was a strong woman, a devoted wife to Keith, and a wonderful mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sara Watts Carver, and brother Waymon Watts of Odessa. She is survived by her children, Pam and husband David Botkin of Boyd TX, Steve and wife Connie of Montgomery, TX, and Philip of The Woodlands, TX; 7 grandchildren Josh, Amy, Rachel, Paige, Brett, Kendall, and Keaton; and 6 great grandchildren, Kyler, Bevin, Lincoln, Chloie, Brent, & Elijah.
