Mary Teakell

Mary was a Christian who loved her Heavenly Father and was awaiting her Call for Heavenly Home, but knew it was at His Timing.

Mary Edith Bennett was born on December 29, 1921, to Tezzie (McGaha) and Newton Farris Bennett. She was the second in succession of 5 children born of that union. Like others growing up in the depressed era, all the kids in the fields, and did chores alongside their parents.

Mary married Mutt Campbell on December 23, 1939. That union ended in Mutt's death in 1961. Two children were born in that union: Clara Sue and Jackie.

Mary remarried Harlan Hollis Teakell, 1965, and was until his death, July 2001. No children born in that union.

Mary is survived by family and friends who found comfort in her sweet smile and her love of Christ. Those left behind till we meet again in Glory: Daughters, Clara (Dale), Jackie (Jim). Step Children: 2. Grandchildren: Peggy (Chuck), Margaret (Tony), Vickie, Jody (Casondra), Ricky (Marcie). Great-Grandchildren: 6. Great-Great-Grandchildren: 3. Sisters: Hazel, Helen (S.L.), Bardy.

All of her special Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews, who all called her "Aunt Eadie," too many to mention; but you all know how special you were and how special she was.

Her Special Friends at Kingston Ave. Baptist that I will not name for fear of forgetting someone.

Her most wonderful times were going to the McGaha Family Reunion and getting to see and visit with all of you. Winning for the last several years, "The Oldest" gave her a smile and joy to her heart.

She will be greatly missed. She was loved by all she met and was a joy to be with. Thank you all for being there for her. She is at peace.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1pm Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Kingston Avenue Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
