

He was born on June 10, 1958, in Odessa, to the late Eustacio and Pauline Chavez.
Mike is survived by his high school sweetheart of 40 years, Rosaselia B. Chavez; his son Michael Renee Chavez and wife, Claudia and his daughter Eron Renae Chino and her husband Arvin; four grandchildren Wesley Abraham Chavez, Diego Andres Chavez, J’dyn Quincy Chino and Ylenajyn Willow Sky Chino; seventeen siblings Eddie Chavez, Tacho Chavez, Pete Barreraz and wife, Lorina; Charlie Chavez and wife, Gloria; Tom Chavez and wife, Rosa; Gabriel Chavez and wife, Lucy; Ray Chavez and wife, Aurora; Jimmy Chavez and wife Brenda; David Chavez, Henry Chavez, Chris Chavez, Irene Franco and husband Robert; Lucy Ybarra and husband, Johnny; Mary Helen Aguirre and husband, Carlos; Frances Carter and husband, Darrel; Mary Ann Borunda and husband, Joe; and Linda Chavez; thirty-nine nieces and nephews, and numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews and other family members.
Mike was a jack of all trades and a master of all of them. He brought enjoyment and laughter to everyone he came in contact with. Mike will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was a hero to his son Michael Renee and daughter Eron. His grandchildren looked up to their “PoPo” who looked forward to spending playtime with him.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Pastor Gabriel Chavez officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Redman, Ray Chavez, Justin Chavez, Anthony Salinas, Robert Franco, and Charlie Chavez.
