Monty Roy Spruill

Monty Roy Spruill, 61, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Medical Center Hospital. Born in DeLeon , TX to Roy Dale Spruill and Margaret Anne Johnson Spruill he lived all of his life in Odessa graduating from Odessa High School in 1974. Monty had a love of real estate beginning in his early childhood always having an interest in remodeling homes and worked in real estate for nearly 40 years winning the Golden R Award. He retired from ATMOS Energy after 30 years of loyal service. Monty was extremely loving and proud of his two sons and 6 grandchildren. He enjoyed nightly “Chit Chat” conversations with his two sons while they were growing up, always having a clever remark and an off colored sense of humor. He enjoyed and loved watching his sons and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Monty was a loving son, brother, and friend who enjoyed family gatherings bringing his sense of humor to everyone he knew or met, never meeting a stranger. He was an avid animal lover always rescuing stray animals throughout his lifetime. Monty is preceded in death by his father Roy Dale Spruill. He is survived by his sons, Justin Dean Spruill & wife Kara, Bobby Dale Spruill & wife Jana, mother, Margaret Ann Forrest all of Odessa, former wife, Betty Chandler of Krum, TX, brothers, Russell Shaffer and Don Breeden of Odessa, uncle, Ronald Johnson & wife Rhonda of DeLeon, TX, numerous cousins and lifelong friends, (6) grandchildren, Aaliyah Spruill, Austin Spruill, Brinley Spruill, Aubrey Spruill, Brady Spruill, Trace Livesay, (2) nieces, Kristen and Whitney Shaffer, nephew, Paul Shaffer, (5) step-sisters and stepmother. A visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, March 20, 2017 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
