Nelda Lee Frie

Our beautiful, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Nelda Lee Frie, went to meet the Lord on September 26, 2013. She will be greatly missed leaving a tremendous hole in our family and our hearts!

Nelda was born to David and Edna Hankins in LaForce, TX on May 24, 1930.

She married Howard Monte Jones in Borger TX and was blessed with 4 children, Barbara, Bob, Joyce, and Michael. She moved to the Odessa area in 1964 and married Hubert Milton Frie. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

She was always there to help anyone. Her favorite pass time was sewing for her grandchildren. She and Hubert built a home on Possum Kingdom Lake where she loved her family to join them and eat her famous fried catfish.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, 9 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 daughter.

Those of us left to celebrate Nelda’s life are her children Barbara with husband Larry Maxwell of Bastrop, Bob with wife BJ Jones of Odessa, Michael with wife Karen Jones of Odessa, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, her brother John Hankins of Odessa.

A special thank you to the Soladis memory care home in New Braunfels, TX where she resided the last year of her life. They gave her total tender loving care. She was so happy there, she loved every single person that cared for her. At the end, Hope Hospice came into her life making her final days peaceful with their attentive loving care.

A funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Marcus Zuniga officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Jones, Travis Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Garrett Wetsel, Jared Clanton and Darren Cody.
