Odessa Lewis

Odessa was born April 12, 1925 to Charlie and Nettie (Evans) Sharp, in Rochester, Texas. She married John L. Lewis Jr. on July 28, 1946, in O’Brien, Texas. She had four great loves in her life, the Lord Jesus Christ, Johnie her “Honey”, her family, and her home.

John and Odessa moved to Ector County in 1956, starting out in the big city of Notrees and moved to Odessa in 1980. Odessa is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Nettie (Evans) Sharp, her husband, John, and two sisters, Lucille Littlepage and Velma Lusk. One brother, Dale Sharp.

Survivors are children: Gary and wife Judy Lewis; Mark and wife Wilma Lewis; and daughter Gayla Duncan all of Odessa. Brothers: Erwin Sharp and wife Sandy of Cedar Hills, Texas, Wayne Sharp and wife Sarah of Electra, Texas. One sister: Ruby Hubbard of Fort Worth, Texas; Grandchildren: Bart Tatom and wife Lisa; Jason Lewis and wife Stacy, Melinda Villalobos and husband James, Angela Tatom, all of Odessa. Jeremy Lewis and wife Jennifer of McKinney, Texas; Sara Lewis of Allen, Texas; Gina Jackson and husband Jason of McCloud, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren: Logan, Sean, Natalie, Jaycie, Makayla, Joslin, Major, Dean, Carson, and Danny Lee.

The family will receive visitors at Mrs. Lewis’ home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6-8pm.

Funeral Services will be at Mission Dorado Baptist Church on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 2:00pm with burial in Ector County Cemetery.
