Patty Gonzalez, 53, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1969 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Maria (Ramirez) and Juan Gonzalez.
Patty was a beautiful soul and the ultimate fashionista. She moved to Odessa in the 1980s. She attended Ector High School and Odessa College. She began her career in the food industry as assistant manager at Arby’s and continued working at her family’s business until achieving her ultimate goal of owning her own restaurant. Patty owned and operated Jalisco’s Drive In on FM 1936.
Patty enjoyed interior design and anything having to do with fashion. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and being with her family. Patty married Jose Alonso on February 14, 2007 and was the light of her husband’s life. She was a wonderful mother to Kristine, Jennifer and Joel and a devoted daughter, infallible sister, perfect Tia, lovely friend and considered a true sister by all of her brothers-in-law. Her parting has left a vast emptiness in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Gonzalez and brother, Salvador Gonzalez.
Patty is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Jose Alonso; her three children, Kristine, Jennifer and Joel; mother, Maria Gonzalez; six sisters; four brothers; 25 nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5-9 PM with the Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Alex Villegas, Alexis Valles, Anthony Mata, Carlos Guillen, Julio Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez, Randall Holmes and Ulises Guillen will serve as pallbearers.
