Petra "Betty" Marquez Najera

In our heavenly kingdom and in the loving arms of our lord and savior Jesus Christ is to be found a beloved wife ,mother ,sister grandmother ,great-grandmother ,great-great-grandmother and dear friend .Mrs Najera 78,of Alpine , Tx ,surrounded by her loving family, passed away Thursday October 8,2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas .

She was born March 25,1937 in Alpine Tx to Fidel Marquez Sr. and Maria Alarcon Marquez .She was a Catholic Christian at St Joseph’s Catholic Church ,a member of the Crusillista De Colores and also a homemaker .She was also known for her delicious tamales and biscochos ,and was always ready for her garage sales .She is preceded in death by her loving parents ,Fidel Sr. and Maria , daughter ,Belinda Rodriguez ,brother ,Antonio Marquez ,son-in-law, Hector Ybarra ,and niece Guadalupe ”Lupita” Alvarado.

Petra (Betty) Najera is survived by her beloved husband, Adolpho Najera ,who she married August 1st 1954 in Alpine tx ,daughters, Nelda Ybarra ,Bertha Lopez and husband Margarito Lopez Jr ,Velma Vazquez and husband Artemio Vazquez ,Sandra Guerra and husband Manuel Guerra ,and Son-in-law ,Raul Rodriguez.15 grandchildren,29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Brothers ,Fidel Marquez Sr ,Joe Marquez ,Gilbert Marquez ,and Mario Marquez all of Odessa, Tx. Sisters ,Elodia Dominguez of San Angelo Tx, Mary Helen Dutchover ,Hortencia Garcia ,Elfida Marquez ,and Olga Marquez all of Odessa Tx ,and many godchildren, nieces nephews , and friends .

We the Najera-Marquez family would like to take this time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you,, for all your prayers ,floral arrangements, food offerings ,and especially your presence with us during this difficult time .May God bless you all abundantly. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Artie Rodriguez, Adrian Lopez ,Joe Gonzales ,Anthony Lopez ,Aaron Vazquez ,Joel Vazquez ,Julian Guerra, and great grandson Noah Rodriguez. A special Thank You to Dr. Madhava Agusala and staff. Visitation will be today Sunday October 11, 2015 from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at Odessa Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2pm Monday October 12,2015 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Ector County Cemetery Peaceful Garden Section. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
