

Polly L. Braswell former Odessa resident peacefully went to be with the Lord October 26, 2021 in Owasso, Oklahoma where she had resided at the Baptist Village for the last twelve years. She was born March 1, 1935. She graduated from Littlefield, Texas High School in 1953. Prior to her move to Oklahoma, she enjoyed working with the children at First Baptist Church in Odessa and the homeless. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa where she developed lifelong friendships. She frequently gave her testimony at various Christian functions and churches and had a love for Israel and the Jewish people. During her years in Owasso, she had played an active part with the First Baptist Church in Owasso and enjoyed fellowship with many of the staff and congregants. Her residency at the Baptist Village was important to her and all the lives she touched there and even in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mabel Alexander; two husbands, Tack Purdy and Kenneth Braswell; one daughter, Debby Purdy Hill; and two sons, Randy and Karl Braswell.
She is survived by her son, Dan Purdy and wife Melody; two sons, Jimmy (Jody) and Lester (Kathy) Braswell; one daughter, Edna (Kevin) Conn; and daughter-in-law, Janice Braswell. Grandsons, Adam (Chris) Hill, Clint and Nicky. Braswell grandchildren Dusty, Kenny, Cody, Slade, April, Jolie, David, Cindi, Gina, Kristie, Kendra, Danny, April, Michelle, Victoria and Amanda, 39 great grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren….She loved all her family and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM with Pastor James Bishop officiating, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Adam Hill, Tyler Hill, Jackson Hill, Josh Jones, Kevin Conn, and Kamryn Hill will serve as pallbearers.
