Raul Llanez Rojo Sr.

June 27, 1965February 24, 2019

Raul Llanez Rojo Sr. died on Sunday, February 24th at the age of 53. He was born to Benito and Eufemia (Llanez) Rojo on June 27, 1965 in Odessa, TX. Raul worked the majority of his life as an electrician and eventually opened his own business. His personal accomplishments cannot be ignored, but his greatest achievement was, at his own admission, his family.

He married his wife, Sarah (Hernandez) Rojo, and had two sons, Raul Rojo Jr. and Ryan Rojo. He took great pride in his sons; one fathering children of his own and one becoming a Catholic Priest. Raul was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. His Catholic Faith was a touchstone for his entire worldview. While not at Church or with his family, Raul enjoyed watching football (Go Redskins!) and making others laugh. His humor will be forever missed.

Raul is survived by his wife, Sarah Rojo, of Odessa, TX and his two sons, Raul Rojo Jr and his fiancé, Jesika Alvarado, of Odessa and Fr. Ryan Rojo of Midland. Three grandsons, John, Kevan, and Evan Rojo, granddaughter, Emery Rojo, and step-granddaughter Nyssa Alvarado of Odessa. One brother, Ruben and Maria Rojo of Odessa, and five sisters: Gloria and Santos Quintela of Odessa, Mary and Lalo Sanchez of Odessa, Anna (Nellie) Rojo of Odessa, Rosie and Juan Morales of Odessa, and Norma and Raul Bueno of Odessa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Eufemia Rojo, one sister, Consuelo de la Cruz of Odessa, and two brothers, Luis and Benny Rojo of Odessa.

Rosary and Vigil Service are scheduled for Friday, March 1st at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Odessa at 7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Odessa, TX, at 10:00AM with His Excellency, the Most Rev. Michael J. Sis presiding. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will his nephews.

The family asks that Masses be offered for the eternal rest of Mr. Rojo’s soul.

Rojo family,
My deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss. When my mom told me, my heart broke because my cousin was always smiling and always such a sweet soul and I couldn't believe it. I pray that God's love surround you all during this difficult time. He has now joined Tia and Tio, Benny, Luis, Connie and my dad, Tom, in heaven. I'm sure they all celebrated when they saw him coming. He has left a beautiful legacy in his children. With much love, Ellen Llanez (Austin, Tx)
