Ray Benton, age 57, of Odessa, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1954, to Walter Ray and Mary (Logan) Benton in Duncan, OK. He was the owner of Ray Benton Construction for many years. He was a staunch member of AA and has been sober since April 13, 1983. He said of himself he was a happy, healthy, prosperous child of God.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Benton.
He is survived by his father, Walter Ray Benton; his son, Dustin Benton; his daughter, Kyla Benton; his sister, Susan Glass and husband, Randy, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Damian Marquez, Avery Marquez, Dawson Benton, and Mya Ferguson; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special person, “my mommy-in-law.”
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating.
