Raye Delcore

Nell Raye (Hammer) Delcore, 83, was born November 3, 1929 in Gene Autry, Oklahoma, to Ira Hammer and Artie Carrol Hammer. She passed from this life on April 14, 2013 in Crane, Texas.

She spent most of her working life in the medical field. Raye retired as Director of Radiology at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa in 1984 after 32 years. She continued to work after her retirement. She was a member and president of the Ector County Sheriff Posse Auxiliary, and was president of Sound Off Inc. She and husband Loyd enjoyed traveling in their motor homes.

Raye was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her husband Loyd Delcore, 4 sons; James Reagan Harris and wife Sonja of Dallas, Texas, Charles Harris and wife Julie of Katy, Texas, Loyd Delcore Jr. and wife Teresa of Conway Arkansas, and Robbie Dale Delcore and wife Lisa of Greenville, Texas; 3 sisters; twin sister Faye Leis of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Johnnie Matthews of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Jewel Cogburn of Boerne, Texas, also numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
