Robbie LaMerle Butler

Robbie was born in Superior, Arizona, on November 18, 1942, to the late Robert Merel Morton and Sybil Morton. Robbie graduated from Odessa High School. She was married to her sweetheart, Bill Butler, on May 13, 1968; they were married for over 50 years.

Robbie’s favorite job was at Eisenhower Church of Christ, where she worked until retirement. She was a strong woman who even washed dishes the night before her passing.

Robbie loved serving others, knitting dishcloths to give as gifts, and working in her yard. She also collected poetry and made bulletin prayer journals. Her favorite colors were pink and red. She was a long-time, faithful, and dearly loved member of Eisenhower Church of Christ. Robbie loved children and enjoyed teaching them, especially the babies in cradle roll. She was blessed with a huge, loving heart, and frequently provided transportation for members who needed it. She continuously found ways to use her talents and abilities to serve others and bring glory to God. Robbie fought the good fight, kept the faith, and was favored by God.

Robbie is survived by her son Billy Butler, daughter and son-in-love Cathy and Daniel Eastwood, grandchildren Zak and wife Jennifer Rimer, Caimee Anne Mooney, various great grandchildren, nephew Donnie and wife Punkin Reeves, niece Shirley and husband Jerry Hanks, and nephew Billy Wayne and wife Paula Butler.

Robbie was preceded in death by her true love Bill Butler, son Chris Butler, parents Robert Merel and Sybil Morton, and sister Betty Reeves.

A visitation for Robbie will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761. A memorial service will occur Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Eisenhower Church of Christ, 807 East 21st Street, Odessa, Texas 79761.
