

Born on January 10, 1950, to the late Frank Norris and Hortence "Sandy" Hail, Rodney was a lifelong Texan. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1968 and went on to study drafting at Frank Phillips Junior College and Odessa College. On July 26, 1969, he married the love of his life, Priscilla Padgett, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.
Rodney was the proud owner of Hard-Facing Services. When he wasn't working, he could often be found outdoors, enjoying his favorite pastimes of fishing and hunting. He was also an avid sports fan who rarely missed a Texas Rangers or Dallas Cowboys game.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Priscilla Hail; his children, Shelley McGlothlin of Midland, Texas; Garen Sparks and her husband Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Kyle Hail and his wife Courtney of Abilene, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lindsey McGlothlin and her husband Isaac Miller of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Garrett McGlothlin of Norman, Oklahoma; and Blake Hail of Abilene, Texas; his great-grandson, Monty Miller of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Marie Padgett of Perryton, Texas; and his brothers, Darrell Hail, Joel Hail, and Ralph Hail.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hortence Hail, and his father-in-law, Oliver Padgett.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the medical professionals who provided compassionate care, including Dr. K. Bajaj, P.A. Sissy Hinojos, and the staff Rose, Gracie, Nora, Sara, Yvonne, Audra, and Nubia at Texas Oncology, as well as Liza and Saida at Express Nursing. A special thank you is also extended to his favorite hair stylist, Susan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Rodney’s honor to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
A visitation for Rodney will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 310 SE 30th Ave, Perryton, TX. A graveside will occur Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ochiltree Cemetery, Perryton, TX.
