Rosa "Rosie" Sanchez

Rosa was born in Grandfalls, TX 10/31/41 to the late Elueterio and Aurora Acosta. She graduated from Monahans, TX. She then continued to receive a degree in nursing and worked as a nurse for many years. Rosa was married to Ramon Sanchez.

Rosa was the matriarch of our family. Loving, caring, thoughtful, and a shoulder to cry on are just a few words used to describe her. Always willing to babysit, run an errand, or help in any way possible. The best caregiver on the planet. She had a touch of bluntness that is just one of many things we will miss.

Rosa was a nurse, and security guard. Although I think her best job was that of a grandma. Rosa enjoyed reading, puzzles, shopping and casinos. She was always up for a good time. Whether it was for a trip to the grocery store, a walk to get steps in, or an occasional trip to the casino. She could stay up late with the best of em. However, if ever called on to help in some sort or fashion she was there. Grandbaby in the hospital, sick sibling, sick grandchild, she was there. She was a natural born caregiver. She also had a love for the bible. She attended Odessa Christian Faith Center.

Rosa is survived by (daughter) Lori Sanchez, (son and daughter-in-law) Ramon Sanchez and Kristi Garcia. (stepchildren) Sergio and Ruby Sanchez of Odessa. Fabian Sanchez of Odessa and Valeria Sanchez of Odessa. (brothers) Frank and Neomi Acosta of Andrews, TX. Miguel (Mike) Acosta of Odessa. (sister) Consuelo Acosta of Denver, CO. Grandchildren, Mayra Sanchez, Yesenia Sanchez, Vanessa Galindo, Adrian Tarango, Ramon Sanchez Jr., Jorge Tarango, Mercedes Leard, Axcel Tarango, Isaac Sanchez, Emily Garcia, Yurika Porras, Sebastian Garcia, Reney Sanchez, Krystal Sanchez, Kevin Sanchez, Levi Robles, and Maximilano Sanchez. Also several nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great nieces, and her dog Casper.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Ramon Sanchez, son Ruben Acosta, parents Elueterio and Aurora Acosta, siblings Dominga Acosta Gavaldon, Angela Garcia, Sandy Acosta Baker, Simon Acosta, (grandson) Noe Sanchez (nephew) Carlos (Charlie) Benavides.

Honorary pallbearers are Ramon Sanchez Jr, Adrian Tarango, Jorge Tarango, Axcel Tarango, Isaac Sanchez and Victor Galindo.

The family wishes to thank everyone who has been with us during this difficult time. Your love, support, food, drinks and overall companionship have comforted us over the last few days. God Bless everyone who have been with us during this difficult time in our lives.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 North Jackson, Odessa, TX 79761. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1700 North Jackson, Odessa, TX 79761. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Odessa Christian Faith Center, 9000 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, TX 79765. A committal service & burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery, 300 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761.
