With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roxanne "Roxy" Rios, who was born on June 7, 1994, and passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 32. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Roxy graduated from Permian High School in 2012 and continued her education at Odessa College. Throughout her career, she worked at the Ector County Courthouse, Jumburrito, and the downtown Odessa Starbucks, where her warm smile and kind heart left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
Roxy will always be remembered for her signature sweater—no matter the season, she always had one on. A devoted cat mom, she adored her beloved cats, Oreo, Asher, Bandit, Smokey, Hazel, and Milo. She also deeply loved her faithful dog, Tater, and her cherished chickens. Caring for her animals brought her endless happiness and reflected the compassion that defined her life.
She found her greatest joy spending time with her beloved boyfriend, Joseph Morgan, her family, and her treasured pets. Whether sharing quiet moments at home or creating lasting memories with those she loved, Roxy's heart was fullest when surrounded by the people and animals who meant the most to her.
Roxy is survived by her mother, Yesenia Roman of Randolph, Texas; her stepfather, Mario Rayos Jr.; her sisters, Yadira Rayos of Odessa, Texas, Reyna Rayos of Odessa, Texas, and Miraya Rayos of Randolph, Texas; her beloved boyfriend, Joseph Morgan; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Moises Roman; her cousin, Abel Roman; her great-grandparents, Simon and Angela (Galindo) Roman; her great-grandparents, Cruz and Francisca Arenivas; and her step-grandfather, Mario Rayos.
Although her time on earth was far too short, Roxy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, loyalty, and compassion. In one final act of extraordinary generosity, she chose to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life and hope to others. She will always be remembered for her caring heart, her unmistakable sweater, her unwavering devotion to her beloved animals, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
