Roy was born in Lubbock, Texas at West Texas Hospital on February 15, 1947 to the late Allen and Loice Fulsom. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock in 1965. On June 4, 1966 he married the love of his life Sharon Turner. From that union came their daughter Felicia. Roy was drafted into the Army in October 1967 during the Vietnam War where he proudly served his country for two years as an E5 for program Spec/ Programmer. Shortly thereafter he had to take on the role of father and mother to their daughter Felicia, dedicating his life to raising his daughter was one of the many attributes that spoke to his loyalty, character, love and devotion.
Roy worked many jobs throughout his life including NCR cash register, Woolley Tool, Sitel and after he retired, he went to work for Market Street working in the produce and later as cashier. He loved working at Market Street and met many customers there that he would visit with. Roy had a fascination for trains! Any kind of trains, but mostly the old coal type locomotives. He loved building his own train tracks and finding trains to purchase for his train room. As much as he loved his hobby of trains, which paled in comparison for the love, pride and joy that he had for his grandson, Nolan.
