Ruben was a graduate of Ector High School and went on to attend two years of trade school in Austin. He retired from Medical Center Hospital after 35 years of service. After that retirement, Ruben worked for Albertson's for the next nine years.
He was a devoted Catholic who attended Holy Redeemer since 1982 and faithfully attended mass every Saturday evening. Ruben was also a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time and talking to friends - of whom there are too many to name. A loving son, brother and uncle, he will surely be missed by his family.
Ruben is survived by his mother, Socorro Estrada of Odessa; brother, Ubaldo Estrada and wife Karen of Midland; sister, Teresa Juarez and husband Tito of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ruben T. Estrada; and sisters, Maria Lourdes Luna and Linda Estrada.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2633 Conover Ave. Graveside committal will follow at 1:00 PM at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery.
