Ruben"El Big Bopper" Rubalcado

In Our Heavenly Kingdom and in the Loving Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, & Dear Friend Ruben” El Big Bopper” R. Rubalcado. Mr. Rubalcado 64, of Odessa, Surrounded by his loving family, passed away Friday October 16, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. He was born in El Paso, Texas to Santiago Rubalcado Jr. and Hermelinda Casas. He was a Christian Catholic and worked as a Commercial- Residential Painter. He started his musical journey at a young age alongside his family. He played the bass and guitar for numerous local bands. Ruben loved to read, enjoy good movies, and adding to his collection of music. Can’t forget how he enjoyed going to the Friday Night football games. His favorite pastime was cruising his old stomping ground “The Barrio”. Ruben was a humble man with many good friends. He will be missed. He is preceded in death by Parents; Santiago and Hermelinda Rubalcado, Daughter; Diana Molinar, Granddaughter; Valerie Garcia, Sister; Sandra Rubalcado, Brother; Rickie Rubalcado.

Mr. Rubalcado is survived by Wife; Dolores Rubalcado of Odessa, Son; Mark Rubalcado ( Ida) of Odessa, Daughter; Sherry Rubalcado ( Hector Ibarra) of Odessa, Brother; Ramon Casas of Austin. His pride and joy 16 Grandchildren, and 15 Great-Grandchildren a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends.

We the Rubalcado Family, would like to take this time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you for all your prayers, floral arrangements, food, offering and especially your presence with us during this most difficult time. May God Bless You All Abundantly. Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Sturgeon, Henry Licon, Andres Jacobo, Ricky Ray Rubalcado, Hector Ibarra, Anthony Garcia, Juan Russell, and Marty Minjares. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his grandsons.

Visitation will be today Wednesday October 21, 2015 from 8am to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10am Thursday October 22, 2015 at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ector County Cemetery Los Angeles Section. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
