Ruth Irene Sims, 88, of Odessa passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Hospice House. She was born October 29, 1924 in Midland. She was a retired nurse. She had worked for Dr. John Clark & Dr. Charles Lambeth. She received her nursing degree from the Chicago Nursing School in Chicago, ILL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Gladys Clinger, her husband, James Lynn Sims, & sister, Lois Newsom. She is survived by her son, Dewey Lee Walker of Odessa, daughter, Glenda Wright & husband Kenneth of Odessa, brother, Gene Blaylock & wife Jean of Midland.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Life Change Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
