

Sammy was born in Cucuta, Columbia on March 25th, 1963, to Carl E. Hostetter Jr. and Trudy Hostetter. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1981. There he met his high school sweetheart, Celeste. They married on August 25, 1984; they were married for 40 years.
Sammy worked as a route salesman with Frito Lay for 21 years and retired in 2021. He then worked for ECISD in the transportation department as a bus driver for 4 years. During his time as a bus driver, he was awarded transportation department employee of the year during the 2022-2023 school year.
Sammy enjoyed playing golf with the Pan American Golf Association for many years. He also enjoyed traveling with his family to many different locations throughout the years. His favorite destination was Las Vegas, Nevada. Another interest of his was traveling on different cruise ships to explore different destinations and ports.
Sammy had a true gift for connecting with people. He never met a stranger, and his warmth and generosity made everyone feel welcome and seen. He will be remembered for his big heart, gentle spirit, and the way he brought light into every room. Whether it was through a shared laugh, a helping hand or a listening ear, he made life better for those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Sammy is survived by his beloved wife, Celeste Hostetter; his daughter, Jaclyn Perrin, and her husband, Austin Perrin; his daughter, Lauren Hostetter; and his half-niece, Stephanie Rhodes of Smithville, TN.
Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. Hostetter Jr. and Trudy Hostetter as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, half-brothers, and half-sisters.
Pallbearers will be Austin Perrin, Emmanuel Ordaz, Chris Castelo, Juan Luna, Ethan Hendricks, and Manny Minjarez.

A visitation for Sammy will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761, with a rosary service starting at 7:00 PM .
A funeral mass will occur Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N Grandview Ave, Odessa, TX 79765. A committal service & burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery, 300 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761.
