He was born July 21, 1922 in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania to P. C. Freer and Marie Kelley.
He married his wife Imogene December 31, 1945.
They moved to Odessa in 1956 he taught for over 30 years at Crockett Junior High and Odessa College. For over 40 years he was known for making candles for his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
He is survived by son, Michael Freer and wife Gail of Georgetown,
Two grandchildren, Jason Hamlin of Richmond, VA., Timothy Hamlin of Chesapeake, VA., nephew, Eric Falk of San Antonio and niece, Cathy Hart of Grand Prairie, TX.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Crescent Park Baptist Church
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
