Thomas “Tommy” Humphries passed away at 63 years old in Odessa, Texas. Tommy was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 17, 1955 to Thomas and Florence Humphries. Tommy married Lisa in Odessa, Texas together they had two children Jason and Coy Humphries. Tommy retired from Marketing and enjoyed coaching, fishing, and camping. Tommy is survived by his father, wife, and children, his grandchild Jayden Humphries, sister Cheryl Rosco and Husband Clarence of Andrews, Texas, sister Jonette Severse and husband Randy of Odessa, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tommy is preceded in death by his mom Florence Humphries and his grandparents.

Visitation is set for Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa.

I am so sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. We pole vaulted together at Permian. He was a great guy and a great vaulter. I’m sad to hear the news. I haven’t seen him since I graduated in 72. Prayers and love to the family. Again, so sorry.

Biography

Thomas Humphries was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Tommy will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

       He was the son of Thomas and Florence Humphries.

      Tommy was raised with two siblings. He had two sisters, Cheryl and Jonette. Tommy was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

       Empathic and loyal, he was committed to making his new family happy.

      Tommy worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. He was blessed with two children, two sons,Jason and Coy. Another blessing for him was the gift of one grandchild, Jayden.

      Tommy enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were coaching, fishing, and camping. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.

      Tommy passed away on July 29, 2018 at Odessa, Texas. He is survived by his father, wife, and children, his grandchild Jayden Humphries, sister Cheryl Rosco and Husband Clarence of Andrews, Texas, sister Jonette Severse and husband Randy of Odessa, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.

      Simply stated, he was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Tommy leaves behind a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember him.
