

Tom David Horrell, 73, of Odessa went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born June 15th , 1939 in Abilene, Texas the son of the late Ruth and Herbert Turner and John Horrell and Wanda Tedford. He was one of 9 siblings. He married Gloria June Trusler on June 15th 1962. They had just celebrated their 50th anniversary.
He served in the U.S. Army and saw duty in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 1982. After discharge the became a U.S. Postal Service Mail Carrier from which he also retired. He is a member of the American Legion of Odessa. He spent his retirement with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was going to the annual family reunion and being with family. The old west was a big interest of his, especially the infamous Horrell brothers of Lampasas. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Tom is survived by, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Wes Lay of Odessa, son and daughter-in-law Marty and Mary Horrell of Fort Worth, daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Red Anderson of Odessa and son Christopher Horrell of Odessa. 5 brothers, Don, John, Terry, and Ben Horrell, Harold Wilson all of Odessa. 2 sisters Alice Grenier of Odessa and Patsy Davis of Abilene. 8 grand children and 1 great grandson. He is preceded in death by son Tom David Horrell II, sister Dorthy Steel and brother Junior Chaney.
There will be a Visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday September 28th 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Saturday, September 29th at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel
