Wayne Arvis Hilton

Wayne Arvis Hilton, 96, longtime resident of Odessa, Texas entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2018 in Odessa. Wayne was born on September 4, 1921 in Okra, Texas to James Audrey Hilton and Eva Anderson Hilton. Wayne was the oldest child of the Hilton Family. They moved to Grandview Community, Dawson County in the fall of 1923. Wayne attended the local school and graduated from Lamesa High School in 1938, he then attended Texas Tech in the fall of 1939 majoring in Chemistry. In July 1943, Wayne entered the Army and later the Army Air Corps. He received his wings and Commission on February 1, 1945 at Lackland AFB in Waco, Texas. He was honorably discharged from USAF in September 1954. Wayne remained in the Air Force Reserve and retired in October 1987 with the rank of full Colonel. Wayne spent 20 years working in various Aero Space jobs. In September 1975 he and Christine moved to Odessa, Texas. There they owned and operated Taylor Automotive Body Shop. They retired in December of 2009. Wayne is survived by his wife Christine Moore Hilton; two sons Joe L. Hilton and Neil M. Hilton and his wife Deb; one brother Gene R. Hilton and his wife Mary of Littleton, Colorado; one granddaughter Tara Hilton Bertram and her husband Cody and two sons of Ft. Worth, Texas; one grandson Matthew N. Hilton of Lockhart. Texas, and numerous, nieces, and cousins. Wayne is preceded in death by his sister Loree Myers Allen. Burial will be a private family graveside. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
