

Weldon Lee Dawson, 86, of Odessa went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2015. He was born on November 25, 1929 to the late George and Gladys (Keaton) Dawson in Colorado City, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in International Trade. He was a Captain in the United States Air Force. On May 21, 1955, he married Alice Rebecca Adams in Midland, Texas.
He worked as an accountant for Union Oil Company and Tri-Service Drilling Company in Midland and for E. G. Rodman in Odessa. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Odessa where he served as a teacher in the pre-school department for twenty years. He was a Mason and was associated with Expressions in Midland. He served as president of the Depression glass Club, as president of the Midland-Odessa Chapter of the United Ostomy Association, and as a volunteer at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, L.M. Dawson. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of Odessa and son Mark Wayne Dawson and his wife, Charlene, of Odessa, daughter Karen Ann Horadam and her husband, Donny, of San Antonio, and son Steven Lane Dawson and his wife, Ebeth, of Lubbock, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Edith Dawson of Colorado City, nephew Larry Don Dawson of Westbrook, and niece Lynn Gaston of Westbrook.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the old auditorium at First Baptist Church, Odessa. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery-Rosehill section. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
