
He was born March 8, 1921, in Findlay, OH, to Cyrus and Clara Shireman. He was a retired Engineer for Rockwell Industries. He was a Methodist.
A lifelong passion for wood working resulted in a collection of bowls, goblets and Angels. Upon moving to Lincoln Towers three years ago he began a new hobby of oil painting with the help of his painting buddies.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Louise Shireman and brother-in-laws, Lem McManness, Parlee and Gene Bovee.
He is survived by his daughters Susan Calvin and husband, Chuck of Odessa, Nancy Hefty and husband, Mike of Goodlettsville, TN; sister Nancy McManness of Aurora, CO, sister-in-law Wilma Bovee of Findlay, OH; three grandchildren Scott Hefty and wife, Tracey of Odessa, Sean Hefty and wife, Cheryl of Aloha, OR, Matt Hefty and wife, Theresa of Greenbrier, TN; nine great-grandchildren Bill Hefty and wife Trese, Kasie, Leslie, Julie, Kelly, Mary, Ella, Chris and Sarah Hefty, two great-great-grandchildren Alan and Lillian Hefty and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Lincoln Towers Retirement Center with Rev. Terry Tamplin officiating. Burial will be October 13, 2013, at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Odessa
