So sorry to hear the news of our friend Bill Taylor and his passing.   Bill lived with myself and my wife in Virginia Beach back in the 70s. The last time we were able to see him was when he came to my retirement in 1990. He was a really nice guy and loved CB radios. He was an outstanding radio electronic technician he will be missed.

I knew Bill in the 70's when he was stationed at Dam Neck submarine base outside of Virginia Beach, Virginia.  A mutual friend set us up on a blind date and we continued to date. He was all about his 1965 baby blue Mustang and CB radios. I cannot remember his "handle" or call name for the CB but he thoroughly enjoyed the community of CBers. He even had a part-time job repairing the hardware end of the communication method.

Bill was fun and all in for his friends. He lived off Coke and MM's; one year for Christmas, I gave him gift certificates to 7-11 because that's where he bought all his groceries. The Navy transferred him to Hawaii. I visited him in Hawaii and we enjoyed taking in the sights.

We went our separate ways as distance and life prevented the relationship from maturing. We crossed paths at the retirement of the same friend who set us up around 27 years prior and exchanged email addresses. Abut three years ago he emailed and we exchanged newsy and gossipy emails and occasional phone calls until his premature death. The world lost Bill too soon and is the lesser for it. He was a good and decent person.

Our family extends its heartfelt condolences to your family. He was a great friend and he will be missed.
