

In Our Heavenly Kingdom and in the Loving Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found Our Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and Dear Friend. Willie D. Lane. Mr. Lane 74 of Odessa, passed away Friday April 5, 2013 at Odessa Regional Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 17, 1938 in Houston County, Texas to McKinley Lane and Bertha Bennett. He united in marriage to Catherine Butler June 17th 2006 here in Odessa, Texas. He was a Devout Christian whom loved and worshiped the Lord Dearly with his heart and obedience. He was a gifted and talented writer of gospel hymn`s, but above all enjoyed singing and praising them to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he also retired as a life long custodian from the Ector County Independent School District. Mr. Lane is preceded in death by Parents, Grandparents, Brothers; Johnny and Arthur, Sisters Helen, Doris and Lovie D. and a host of Aunts and Uncles. Mr. Lane is survived by loving wife; Catherine Lane of Odessa, Step-Children; Priscilla Patterson of Odessa, Texas and Kevin McDaniel of Rialto, California, Sister: Sarah Moore of Houston, and many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews Cousins, In-Laws and Many friends. We, the Family would like to take this time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you for all your prayers, floral, food offerings and especially your presence with us during this most difficult time. A special gratitude to Greater St. Johns` Baptist Church for opening the doors for Willie D. Lane`s celebration of Life. May God Bless You All Abundantly. Visitation will be held today Thursday April 11, 2013 from 1pm to 9pm with a Family Gathering with friends from 6pm to 8pm at Odessa Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10am Friday April 12, 2013 at Greater St John’s Baptist Church (212 S. Muskingum) with Elder Larry Nickerson officiating. Interment to follow at Ector County Cemetery Peaceful Gardens Section.
