Services will be Monday morning, September 13 at 10 a.m. at Odessa Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetary.
He was preceded in death by his father, T.B. Sams; and mother, Mattie L. Sams. He was born in Lea County, Texas.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Alexander and husband John, Mattie Draughans and husband Sammie, all of Odessa; stepsons, Victor Lemons of Midland, Irvin Lemons of Pasadola, Miss., Johnny Lemons, Jonathan Lemons and wife Nicole, all of Odessa, John Lemons and wife Carena of Durham, N.C.; stepdaughters, Charlotte Lemons of Austin, TX and Neda Lemons of Midland; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and relatives.
