On the evening of March 31, 2016, at 8:15 pm, Willie “Fay” Schroeder passed away due to complications from a stroke. Ms. Schroeder was surrounded by family members at her bedside at Robert Lee Care Center at the time of her passing. Ms. Schroeder was 80 years old.
Fay was born on June 14, 1935, in Water Valley, MS. She was the second child of seven children of Johnny Nathanial and Clyda Lee Goode.
She is survived by five children: James Glenn Kendall, Gary DeWitt Kendall and wife, Anna, and Gregory DeWayne Kendall, all of Odessa; DeNita G. Bohannon and husband, Frank of Robert Lee, TX; and Debra G. Avalos and husband, Rafael of San Antonio, TX. She had two other children who preceded her in death: Glenda Faye Morris and Joel Guy Kendall, both of whom were from Odessa.
She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Fay was preceded in death by one grandson Jonathon Gray and one great-grandson Hunter Bowers.
She is also survived by one sister Teresa Mayhan of Gilmer, TX; two brothers Charles Goode of Gilmer, TX; and Bob Goode of Perryville, AK. She was preceded in death by one sister Lottie Saxon of Gilmer, TX; and two brothers Wayne Goode and Jerry Goode.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 6, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
