Aaron passed away on July 1st, 2025, at the age of 38, surrounded by loved ones. His vibrant spirit, humor, and deep love for life left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Aaron was born on September 1st, 1986, to his adoring parents, Margaret and Howie Shiff. Aaron was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and partner. He attended Casady and Mcguiness, where he met many of his lifelong friends. After graduating from college, he found his calling in the hospitality industry—a perfect match for his outgoing nature and love of bringing people together. Over the years, he played a key role in the success of several local establishments, known not just for his leadership but for the energy and warmth he brought into every room. He had a true gift for entertaining, whether at work or at home.
Aaron’s love for music was a constant throughout his life, and nothing lit him up more than live shows. As a true Phish Head at heart, he followed the band with joy and dedication, alongside his partner Karissa and closest friends. Whether it was Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, or another jam band, Aaron chased the magic of music – collecting memories, miles, and moments that meant everything to him.
Aaron was also a lifelong sports fan. From a young age, he could be found on the field or basketball court, and that love of the game never left him. He was a devoted Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma Sooners fan—everything else just stopped when it was game day down in Norman. During football season, he dove headfirst in competing with his friends and family in fantasy football. While he claimed he was “always winning,” those close to him knew the truth was somewhere in between—except for the part where he always managed to beat his father year after year.
Aaron’s greatest joy ultimately came from the people in his life. He had an incredible ability to build and maintain deep, meaningful friendships, and he treasured his family above all else. He is survived by his brother, Casey (wife, Kendi); his sister, Maya (husband, Whit); his beloved niece, Emmy; his partner, Karissa; and his loving parents, Margaret and Howie. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and an extraordinary group of friends who will carry his memory forward with love and laughter.
Aaron loved fiercely and always lived life to the fullest. He now joins many cherished friends and family members who passed before him. His humor, light, and generous heart will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor Aaron’s memory by reaching out to someone you care about. Tell them you love them. Time is precious—yesterday is gone, tomorrow is never promised, and the only moment we have is now.
