Adrienne was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 14, 1947 to Col. Edwin J. Angelo, Sr. and Juanita Epp Angelo.
As a child, Adrienne was a dancer. She loved tap dancing and ballet and it was something of which she was very proud. She grew up in Warr Acres and Oklahoma City and attended Putnam City High School.
From her first marriage, Adrienne had her only two children – Tammy Lee (Cross) Aldridge in 1967 and Teri Lyn (Cross) Dowling in 1970.
In 1973, Adrienne started working at WKY Radio & TV (Now KFOR) in the traffic department. That is where she met the love of her life, Robbie Robertson, who worked as a sportscaster and assistant sports director. She worked her way up at the station, becoming the Chief ENG editor of the newsroom. She was the first female videotape editor in the state of Oklahoma and West of the Mississippi River.
Adrienne and Robbie married in 1984 and continued to work at the television station until 1989, when they started their own advertising agency, The Robertson Group. One of her favorite projects at the Robertson Group was the production of her brainchild, the television program “Discover Oklahoma”, developed for the Oklahoma State Department of Tourism. During her time at the agency, she was also honored by American Women in Radio and Television, Oklahoma City Chapter, with a Pioneer in Television award. In 2000, she and husband Robbie, along with Katrina Shaklee, founded the annual event for athletes with physical disabilities, the Endeavor Games. Adrienne was also a successful ambassador for Avon and had many customers who became dear friends.
Adrienne had many hobbies. She and Robbie were avid golfers and she loved to get together to play dominoes with her friends, affectionately referred to as the “Domino Dollies.” She loved attending concerts, especially country music. She and Robbie were active members of St. John’s Episcopal Church, where they graduated “Education for Ministries” together in 2009. They were also regular volunteers at the Guild of St. George.
Anyone who knew Adrienne loved her. Known as “A Baby”, the term of endearment given to her by Robbie, Adrienne was feisty, funny, loving, kind, considerate and thoughtful. She loved all things sparkly and glittery, especially clothing, earning her the nickname Glam-ma with all of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley Alec “Robbie” Robertson, her parents, Col. & Mrs. Edwin James Angelo, Sr., her sister Kim Estevez, sisters- in-law Suzanne Angelo and Mona Angelo, aunt Merial Angelo and grandson Cheyenne McNeely.
