

Alice Zefferys Sarinopoulos was born on October 12, 1934, in Tonawanda, New York, to Spiro and Victoria Zefferys of Douliana, Greece. She passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020, in Oklahoma City surrounded by her family at the age of 85. She graduated from Tonawanda High School and Bryant Stratton Business Institute, Buffalo, New York. She worked at Certified Finance Company in Tonawanda and then for the Senate Majority Leader for the State of New York in the Buffalo office. In 1963 she married the love of her life, George Anest Sarinopoulos, and relocated to Oklahoma City. Together they had 3 children, Christina, “Christy”, Mark, and Victoria “Vicki.” She was a tremendous mother and home maker. After the children were grown she went to work for Hyde Drug Company where she served in many roles in the pharmacy and the head office. Her favorite role was her involvement with Hallmark. Alice was active in the Greek Community, she was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, a member of the Philoptochos, a devoted festival volunteer where she loved baking for the Annual Greek Festival and working the beverage booth. Her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Alice loved her hobby of cooking and had great joy creating cook books for her grandchildren with all the family's favorite recipes. She also loved decorating for the holidays and working on puzzles daily. She was the greatest supporter of her family, rarely missing any opportunity to attend her family’s events, ballgames and recitals. Alice loved her family and friends and touched so many people with her thoughtfulness and kindness. Her laugh was contagious. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband George. Alice is survived by her children, Christina Kaltsounis (George), Victoria Wood (Guy) and Mark Sarinopoulos (Alison), her precious grandchildren, Theodore, Andrew, Guy Jr., Drew, Campbell and Cate. She is also survived by her brothers, Dean and Nick Zefferys, sister-in-law Flora Boardman and many nieces and nephews. May her Memory be Eternal. Due to the Covid circumstances, the family will have a private Trisagion/Memorial Service on Sunday and Funeral Service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, August 24, 2020, followed by a Graveside Service that all family and friends are invited to attend at Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. A public visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Oklahoma City in her memory. A Memorial celebrating the life of Alice Sarinopoulos will be held at a later date.
