

Allan Neal Battles, 69, Oklahoma City, passed from this life on October 7, 2017. He was born November 20, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK to Leroy and Virginia (Johnson) Battles. He graduated high school with the Class of 1965 in Elmore City, OK. After graduation, he joined the US Army, proudly serving his country in Vietnam. He then moved to Stillwater, OK to attend Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1972. He spent many years in the Agricultural industry, working as a ranch manager for cow-calf operations; stocker and feeder operations; and crop production enterprises on ranches throughout Texas and Oklahoma. He then changed his career focus and worked primarily as an Industrial and Commercial mechanic. He spent 14 years at Hertz Equipment Rental, where he retired in 2014.
Allan was an avid sports fan, and you could always count on his knowing the latest scores and standings, no matter the sport. He especially enjoyed NASCAR (he was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan), the Oklahoma City Thunder, and anytime he could cheer on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He also enjoyed fishing, spending many weekends and vacations on Oklahoma’s lakes.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Battles. He survived by his wife, Judith Battles; his father, Leroy Battles of Yukon, OK; his brother Carl Battles, and his wife Perlita, also of Yukon, OK; his children and grandchildren, Shane and Anna Battles, their children Lane, Taylor and Daniel of Marlow, OK; Eric and Sarena Battles, their children Erica and Matthew Rhodes, and Allan and Will Battles of Fayetteville, NC; Andy and Alandra McCune and their daughter Elise, of Oklahoma City; and Christopher and Claudia Strong of Kansas City, MO.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, October 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with a reception following in the Chapel Hill Event Center.
