Andrea Lynn Nondorf was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 10, 1986 to Jim and Sandra Nondorf. Not only was she the only girl in a family with three big brothers, she was also the youngest. Andrea immediately became the princess in all of her brothers’ eyes and held that role for her entire life.
Andrea was baptized at the Northside Christian Church in 1997, her church home for her entire life. She was a devoted follower of Christ and loved to spend her Sunday mornings singing and in worship.
She graduated Hurst Academy in 2006 and volunteered at Special Care Daycare in Oklahoma City. As a volunteer, she assisted the teachers but it was the children that touched her heart. Andrea’s compassion and love for children, especially those with physical handicaps was a driving force in her life. She had a special gift of being able to not only engage with children on their level but to sense their needs and provide a level of comfort to them no one else could.
Later, Andrea worked for EARC in their Edmond office. She cleaned their offices and assisted in odd jobs as necessary. She loved participating in the many office social events such as their Halloween and Christmas parties and looked forward to any social occasion. She didn’t consider her co-workers as anything other than friends, and the feeling was quickly mutual.
Andrea was a devoted University of Oklahoma and Thunder Fan. She would support her teams with an unbridled passion and, sometimes, noise level, that could not be ignored. Her brothers knew that it would not be in their best interest to call Andrea for a few hours if either the Sooners or Thunder lost as she would not be ready to talk.
Andrea’s love of life and continuous smile was loved not only by her family, but by her neighbors who enjoyed walking with her around the neighborhood. She truly never met anyone she didn’t like and had the ability to make friends with anyone she met and to see only the good in people.
She loved to travel, especially to see family. Even a trip to the convenience store for a soda could easily become a great adventure and she cherished every moment. However, her family was the pride of her life. She loved her niece and three nephews and was so excited to spend time with them. They loved to joke with Aunt Andrea, but she also could put them to work easily and they would do whatever she asked.
Andrea passed from this world to her eternal home on Sunday August 2, 2020 and the world lost a little of its sparkle. A, devoted Christian, the family takes solace in celebrating she is with the Lord. Although Andrea was loved and will be missed by her countless friends, neighbors and coworker friends; it is her family that is already missing her zest for life, contagious smile and pure joy in the little things.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Brent Nondorf, Grandfather Lee Nondorf, Grandfather Herbert and Grandmother Lora Bittman and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
