Annabelle was born on July 25, 1926 in Lahoma, OK to Edward Emil and Lydia Christena (Heintz) Holz. She was raised on a farm and attended school in Lahoma. She married John C West on December 21, 1947. Then relocated to Meno, OK and together they raised 7 children. In 1963, John C took a job in OKC and the family relocated there soon after. Annabelle operated an in-home daycare for 20+ children for over 40 years. She raised and impacted the lives of hundreds of children over her 40 + years in business, before retiring in the early 2000’s. John C passed away in 1986 and Annabelle lived independently well into her 90’s.
Annabelle was feisty and had a sharp mind. She loved to watch her games shows and work on her word finds. She was a selfless care taker and she was happiest when she was taking care of others. Annabelle’s family was always her priority and she loved making a big Sunday dinner for them to enjoy. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Emil and Lydia Christena Holz; husband John C West; an infant child; a son Robert West, granddaughter April West; three sisters: Luella Coward, Leola Hoeltzel, and Ruby Hoeltzel.
She is survived by her children: Jim West and wife Dana, Ramona Vorderlandwehr and husband Tom, Roger West and wife Jodie, Tom West and wife Deanna, Annette Douglas and husband Doug, and Debra Crowe and husband Alan. She is also survived by a sister Rosalie Brakhage, 53 grandkids, 23 great grandkids and 5 great great grandkids; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
