May 27th, 1943 - February 22, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Annette Zuhdi announces her passing on February 22, 2025, in Nichols Hills, OK, embraced by family who deeply loved her.
She was born on May 27th,1943, in Oklahoma City, OK. As a child, Annette was known for being studious and extremely intelligent; qualities which served her well at Mercy School of Nursing where she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Annette was a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital on the Open Heart Surgery team with Dr. Allen Greer, Dr. John Carey, and Dr. Nazih Zuhdi. During the course of her time there, Annette and Nazih fell madly in love and eventually married in Paris, France.
Annette was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved traveling with them and showing them the world. Lunches and donuts with her beloved brother David were a weekly ritual, as well as an example to her children of true friendship.
“Selfless” is a word used to describe Annette in that she found extreme joy cheering on, supporting, and celebrating her husband, children, and grandchildren. Annette had an impeccable sense of style, loved making her house a home, and prioritized her family above all else. Adam, Nazette, Zack and Zane will be forever grateful for her unconditional love, gentleness, protection, inspiration, and smile. She was always loving, generous, devoted, strong, and a fighter until the very end.
Annette is preceded in death by her true love, Dr. Nazih Zuhdi, parents James "Walter" and Fern McMichael, and several dear friends and family members.
She is survived by her son Adam of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter Leyla Nazette and husband Jim Cleaver and their son Zane of Oklahoma City, OK, son Zack and wife Kimberly of Oklahoma City, OK, brother David and wife Denise McMichael of Midwest City, OK, grandsons Chris and Noah, great-grandson Elijah, along with numerous other extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of those who helped Annette smile until the very end, with a special thank you to Dr. Allen Hamaker, Enhabit Home Health, and especially to Bod Aka-Bashorun for continually going above and beyond and becoming a part of the family.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Hahn Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 25 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hahn Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors (6600 Broadway Ext, Oklahoma City, OK 731160).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute. We feel this will honor Annette’s memory as it will allow her to be Nazih’s biggest cheerleader one final time. To donate, please utilize the following link https://www.integrisgiving.org/zuhdi
