Arla Kay Gray, 58, of Luther, Oklahoma, passed away on March 21, 2025. She was born on February 27, 1967, in Edmond, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her mother, Sandra Lopp Reyes of Jones, and her sister, Lisa Gray Shelden of Luther. At the age of three, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, but she never allowed her condition to prevent her from experiencing a full life.
Arla attended Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and later received a Master’s in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. She counseled for several nonprofit organizations.
She cruised to the Hawaiian Islands twice and, in 2002, embarked on a European tour with her mother and sister. In 2006, she moved to Hawaii, where she studied Egyptology and Pacific Island history at the University of Hawaii. She returned to Oklahoma in 2019 to live with her sister and beloved companion kitty, Luna, until her passing.
Arla loved nature, flowers (especially red roses), ballet, listening to the opera, mystery stories, baseball, March Madness, and chess. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, 73141 on Wednesday, March 26th.
Viewing and reception at 12:00 PM and the memorial service at 2:00 PM. Graveside service immediately following at Jones IOOF Cemetery.
