

Arlee Vermillion Funk died peacefully on November 10, 2011 after a short illness. Arlee was born on April 22, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur Lee and Christine Vermillion. She attended the University of Wichita and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri before marrying Cameron Funk on February 23, 1950. Arlee and Cameron lived in Kansas and were blessed with four sons before moving to Oklahoma City in 1977.
Arlee was a wonderful cook, a loving mother, a consummate homemaker and she enjoyed entertaining family and friends in the home that she and Cameron shared in Oklahoma City. She was a woman of faith and an active member of Crossings Community Church.
Arlee is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Cameron, and her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Harry Castelli of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Susan Funk, Bob and Carla Funk, David and Boo Funk and Karen Funk, widow of her son John Funk, as well as nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arlee was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dick Vermillion and her son John Funk.
Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock A.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the chapel at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73134, followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests contributions in memory of Arlee Funk be made to Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73134.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff and all who cared for her at Emeritus at Quail Creek, with particular heartfelt thanks to Valentine and Karen.
