

Aubrey A. “Red” Hanger born October 28th 1920 in Purcell, Oklahoma passed into eternal life on January 29th 2015 at the age of 94. In 1938 “Red” joined the CCC – served and worked to improve his community until his enlistment in the Marine Corp in 1940. He was a WWII veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. After his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1948 he served on the special police force at Tinker field until his retirement in 1974. “Red” was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Hanger and his second wife Virginia Quillin. He is survived by a daughter Sandra Kaufman, her husband Bill and daughter Angela, and great grandsons Connor and Owen Poehlman-Kaufman; step daughter LeAnn Frost, her daughter Jennifer and son John. He is also survived nephews Clyde L Hanger, his family, and James Hanger and his family Charles Hanger and his family and Joy Hanger and his family. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1st from 12 to 8pm with family present from 5 to 7pm. A celebration of his life will be held Monday February 2nd at 2pm at Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
