Barbara Gayle Carter

Barbara Gayle Carter, 76, of Choctaw, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on February 13, 2016. She was born October 2, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Barbara spent many years cooking for the Jones School District before her retirement. She enjoyed watching game shows, American Idol and The Voice. She liked to watch birds and always kept bird food for her feathered friends. She also enjoyed her flowers, which grew in pots on her porch and water aerobics. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her son, Don Carter of Moore, Oklahoma; daughter, Sheila Volk and her husband Jason of Midwest City, Oklahoma; daughter, Rita Dalrymple and husband Donnie of Choctaw, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; many loving friends and her furry friend, Snicker. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Otis Carter; her parents, Don and Lillian Austin and Claudia and James Miller; her brother, Curtis Moore; and her sister, Dorothy Haley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment to follow at Jones IOOF Cemetery in Jones, Oklahoma.
