It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Lynn Giles, who slipped into heaven, just days before her 70th birthday. Her loving husband, Leon Giles of 43 years was holding her hand when her eyes beheld the face of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Barbara was welcomed into heaven by her earthly father, Howard Ralph Brewer, her brother, Zane Troy Brewer, nephews William Howard (Trey) Sutcliffe III and Connor Jacob Fleecs. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Leon Edward Giles of the home in Oklahoma City, her mother, Mary Ellen Brewer Lane-Guymon, Oklahoma, her siblings, Betty & Lee Cunningham-Seattle, Washington, Leola & Jeff Merideth-Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Nancy Brewer-Guymon, Oklahoma, Dallas & Jim Mayer-Hooker, Oklahoma, Lisa & David Giles-Wanette, Oklahoma, and Dee Fleecs-Nampa, Idaho. Her memory will also be cherished by nephews, nieces, cousins, church family, previous students, colleagues and neighbors. Barbara’s life journey was like a rock thrown into a lake; sending ripples ever outward to whomever she came in contact. She mastered a way of making others feel welcome and valued and was a remarkable woman whose kindness and openness touched many lives.
