

Barry Kim Fortner, born 11/1/1959 to Arthur “Ron” and Elizabeth Ann Fortner in Oklahoma City, left this life 2/28/2010. Barry worked as a board certified pharmacy technician at Integris Southwest Medical Center. He was also previously a licensed hair dresser and still cut and styled many of his friends’ hair. Barry was passionate about all that he did. One of his highest personal accomplishments was the loving care he gave to his mother during her illness. He enjoyed beautifying the world by working in his garden and he also loved sharing his plants and knowledge. Barry was a very talented artist and created many paintings and drawings. He was a competitive roller skater for most of his younger years. He participated in and won many regional and national championships. After retiring from competitive skating, Barry coached many successful roller skating students. Barry dearly loved his family and many friends and was always there with optimism, cheerfulness and a kind word. His wit and humor brightened every day. Barry will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Barry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ann, and his brothers, Randy and Brent. He is survived by his father, Ron; uncle, Al Lanata; aunt, Jeannie Moore; niece, Yvonne Otts; many cousins and numerous loving friends.
Services are at 2:00 p.m. Thurs. at Guardian West Chapel. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
