Barry Scott

August 31, 1948November 9, 2012

Barry Scott, 64; born August 31st 1948 to Pat and Roy Scott, Oklahoma City, passed away Nov 9th, 2012 in Cleburne, TX. Barry was a Belle Isle Laker, Taft Royal, Northwest Classen Knight, and an O.U. Sooner, where he earned an MBA in Accounting. His passions were golf, reading, movies, family, O.U. sports, and his eternal host of friends. Barry was born with a heart of gold and no favor was ever too much to ask. He is survived by his brother Bruce Scott, Diane (Scott) Potter and husband Andy Potter, and his children: Jennifer Billings, Christopher Scott and wife Nikki, Shannon Dee Scott (daughter), Joseph Scott, and fourteen grandchildren. He has gone before us, because someone had to plan the party, and when God made Barry, there was no mold to break. A celebration of a loving, kind and giving Spirit will be held Friday, Nov. 16th, 3:00 P.M., Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, OKC.

Diane, I was so sorry to hear of Barry's passing from you. I wished we all could have visited more over the years. I cherish the memories of coming to visit with you all during the summer of 1966 and you all showing me around OKC.

Barry, oh how I'll miss you... I have so many wonderful childhood and adult memories of you. You were such a loving and kind spirit with an amazing sense of humor. You will be missed by all who knew you. It was a privilege to be your little sister. This quote gives me great comfort. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear".

See you in heaven big brother.

Love,
Diane

May the love of family and friends help to carry you though your grief. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this time of sorrow. It is important to focus on the many happy memories that you have shared together. "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4

Barry, I still find it difficult to look over at the corner of the bar and not see you there every day. In the past 5 years you have grown to be more than a customer to me, you became a friend. I will miss you probably more than you would have ever believed if I had tried to tell you so before you left us. You have left an imprint on so many lives. What an amazing honor it was to get to know you.

I am a friend of his daughters and what I can say about the time I spent around him is that he was a giver. A giver of good times and of himself. That's the most respectful thing a human can be; a helper to his brother/neighbor. Rest his soul and know he'll be cheering on the Sooners from up there as well! Boomer!!!!!
