He was born March 30, 1936 in Yuramarca Ancash Peru to Mercedes and Honorata Mestanza. He met Flor de Maria Ortega in Lima, Peru in 1956 and they were married April 29, 1964. After marrying, they moved to the United States where he worked at Western Electric which became AT&T and eventually Lucent. He retired from Lucent in 2000.
He was a long time member of Our Lady's Cathedral where he served as usher for many years. He enjoyed reading, driving around downtown Oklahoma City, and listening to Peruvian folkloric music, huaynos.
He is survived by his daughters Flor, Elba and Marlene; and his grandchildren Daniel, Luis, Sofia, Diego, and Cristian.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Flor de Maria Mestanza.
