On November 9, 1940, Betty married the love of her life, John Vernon Harrison, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Together, they made their home in many communities before settling in Oklahoma City.
Betty dedicated several years for her life as a nurse’s aide at St. Anthony’s Hospital before joining Western Electric, where she remained a dedicated employee for two decades.
After retiring Betty and John relocated to Eufaula, Oklahoma, where they worked at the gates at the lake until John’s passing. Betty later returned to Oklahoma City to live with her daughter, Linda Eads. The two shared many joyful memories, traveling and going on cruises together until Linda’s passing. Betty went on to enjoy activities like tandem sky diving, riding in hot air balloons, oil painting, and China painting.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Harrison, her daughter, Linda Eads, her infant sons Robert Andrew and John Monroe, her infant daughter Mary Jane, her parents Mark Monroe Gage and Mrytle Bailey Gage, three sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Davis, her grandchildren Martha Garrard, James Barker, Patricia Larrison, Betty Glaser and Donald Eads, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service in celebration of Betty’s life will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
