Betty Jo Parsons

Betty Jo Parsons, 88 year-old resident of Harrah, Oklahoma, passed away July 5, 2107 in Harrah, Oklahoma. Born September 27, 1928 in Granite, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Carl Chester Calhoun and Lilly Margaret (Ballard) Calhoun. Betty graduated High School as the Class Salutorian. She attended the Nicoma Park Church of Christ. Betty loved spending time wither her granddaughters, family, and church friends. Betty enjoyed crocheting; working in her flowerbeds; and especially attending family reunions in the Altus area. Preceding her in death were her parents Carl and Lilly Calhoun; her husband Tory Parsons; siblings, Fannie Brown; Laverne Nuckolls; Della Thompson; Robert Calhoun; Mary Cook; and Leon Calhoun. Survivors include 2 daughters, Becky and her husband Paul of Nicoma Park, OK; and Terri and her husband Mike Bailey of Choctaw, OK; 2 granddaughters, Sarai Paige Bailey and Katie Lauren Bailey; siblings, Ruby Anderson of Hurst, TX; Lee Calhoun of Granite, OK; and Myrtie Clarke of Ada, OK; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., OKC, OK 73141 with entombment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Midwest City, OK.
