Betty C. Shupe, 87, passed away November 9, 2019 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born January 22, 1932 in Ringwood, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Elmer Sylvester Harris and Irene Mae (Mollett) Harris. Betty was a former sales clerk and had worked at T.G. & Y. for many years. She was a former cheerleader and proud graduate of Midwest City High School and cheered for the Bombers her entire life. Betty was an expert seamstress, making her kids clothes including her daughter’s wedding dresses. She loved her dogs and her biggest joy in life was taking care of her family, fixing holiday meals, etc. and just being with family. Betty was an avid OU football fan. Preceding her in death were her parents Elmer and Irene Harris, husband, Jerry Shupe, one son, James Bybee, Jr., and two brothers, Gerald Harris and an infant brother who died in childbirth. Survivors include two sons, John Bybee of Harrah, Oklahoma, and Daniel and his wife Sheryl Henry of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Cindy Duke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Betsy Moody of Wellston, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Burial will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens.
